🏃 Parish Walk (June)

85-mile walk around the island's 17 parish churches. Starts at midnight. Brutal.

What is Hop-tu-Naa?

Hop-tu-Naa is the Manx celebration of Halloween/Samhain, held on 31st October. It predates modern Halloween and involves traditional songs, turnip lanterns (not pumpkins!) and the custom of going door-to-door singing the Hop-tu-Naa song.

What is Tynwald Day?

Tynwald Day (5th July) is the Isle of Man's national day, celebrating the world's oldest continuous parliament. The ceremony at Tynwald Hill in St John's involves the reading of new laws in both English and Manx Gaelic.
